The following article explains how to configure DeMeter dashboards using the DeMeter configurator and how to read them after the configuration has been deployed.

Configuring Dashboards 


Supported Browsers 

Before using the DeMeter platform, ensure you have installed and are planning on using a compatible browser software and version. The following browsers are supported for both the DeMeter Configurator and DeMeter dashboards.

Accessing the DeMeter Configurator 

The DeMeter Configurator is a web application that is hosted on the CONNECT-W or CONNECT-X. To access it: 

  • Open your browser software
  • In the address bar, type the following:
https://[IP Address of CONNECT]/configurator
  • For example:
https://192.168.5.212/configurator

You should see a screen like below appear.

Apply the open configuration in the used browser to the specified CONNECT.
Load the configuration stored on the specified CONNECT in the used browser.
Roll configuration stored on specified CONNECT to the one previously to the currently loaded on the specific CONNECT
Open a saved configuration file (.json) in the used browser
Save the open configuration in the used browser to a file (.json)


DeMeter Dashboard Settings 

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Settings'
  • Using the 'Time Zone' property, you can define your local time zone
  • Using the 'Date of Last Accident' property, you can define that date of the most recent accident in the monitored area
  • Using the 'Choose a Logo' property, you can define a custom logo to appear in the bottom-left hand corner of your DeMeter dashboards
  • Click the Save icon in the top-right hand corner of the screen to save


DeMeter Dashboard Stations 

In the stations menu, users can import and create stations that will used in DeMeter dashboards. Their names will be displayed on dashboard where this field is used and shown in DeMeter Assistant to identify the source of issues. 

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Stations' and click on the plus icon to add new stations
  • From the pop-up choose to either:
    • Create a new station in the configurator menu using
    • Import stations by choosing a process project file(.fps) used in CVI Fusion
  • After entering a station name or importing a file you will see a list of your available stations that ca n be linked to a dashboard later on


DeMeter Dashboard Planning 

The planning defined in the Planning menu will determine when DeMeter regards connected stations as in or out of production. This will affect how and when KPI's are calculated as well as also changing the display of the dashboard depending on the activity periods defined.

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Planning' and click on the plus icon to add a new planning
  • In the Properties menu, enter a name for your planning such as 'Standard Week'
  • Using the 'On Which Days' property, you can define the days that your planning applies to

  • Using the Slots menu, you can define what types of activity occurs on the days defined. Users can choose between:
    • Preparation = Quality and Performance
    • Break
    • Production
    • Maintenance

  • More specifically, you can also use the When and Exceptions menus to define periods for when the planning should be executed between and if there are any specific days that the planning should be discounted.
  • Once finished, click the Save icon to retain the configuration.


DeMeter Dashboard Shifts 

In the shifts menu, users can define the targets for their plannings, this will affect how the performance is calculated. This will in turn affect the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Shifts' and click on the plus icon to add a new shift
  • In the Properties menu, enter a name for your target such as 'Standard Week'
  • Using the 'Select a planning' property, you can define the planning that applies to your target
  • Using the 'Number of parts to produce' property, you can define the number of parts that are required to be completed with an OK status at the end of the linked planning each day

  • Once finished, click the Save icon to retain the configuration.


DeMeter Dashboard Assembly Lines 

In the assembly lines menu, users tie their planning/shifts and stations together so that the DeMeter service can determine

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Shifts' and click on the plus icon to add a new shift
  • In the Properties menu, enter a name for your assembly  to make it clear you when revisiting this menu in future.
  • Using the Stations menu, you can add all the stations that apply to this assembly line/production area
  • Using the Shifts menu, you can add all the planning/shifts that apply to this assembly line/production area
  • Once finished, click the Save icon to retain the configuration.


DeMeter Dashboard Configurations 

In the dashboards menu, users define their dashboards configurations that can be viewed on devices with browser compatibility.

  • With the DeMeter Configurator open, click the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Navigation menu
  • Click 'Dashboards' and click on the plus icon to add a new dashboard
  • In the Properties menu, using the 'Name' property, enter a name for your dashboards to make it clear you when revisiting this menu in future. 
  • Using the 'Title' property, you can define the value that will be shown in the top-left corner of your dashboard.
  • Using the'Slogan' property, you can define the value that will be shown in the bottom of your dashboard.
  • Using the 'Select a type' property, you can define the type of dashboard you wish to create

  • Using the 'Select an assembly' property, you can define which assembly line in your library applies to this dashboard

  • Once finished, click the Save icon to retain the configuration.
