Infinity Client
Hardware Requirements
In order to use the Infinity Client it is necessary to have the following pieces of hardware :
Device Name | Desoutter Part Number |
Infinity Station 17" IOT | 615 932 7420 |
PPC Infinity 17" Client | 615 932 7320 |
Note: Infinity Station 17" IOT is a Windows 10 replacement of the PPC Infinity 17" Client. The Part Number 615 932 7320 is no longer available for purchase.
An Infinity Client device must be powered by it's applicable power supply.
Infinity Device | Applicable Power Supply | Power Supply Output |
Infinity Station 17" IOT | 615 936 8295 | 12V 5A DC |
PPC Infinity 17" Client | 615 936 8015 | 12V 5A DC |
Running Requirements
Infinity Client devices have the following values configured in their windows image in order to ensure that the Infinity Client application functions normally. Some of the following settings are mandatory whereas others are optional; all settings seen below are recommended for optimal performance.
Setting | Parameter Value | Description | Risk (if altered) | Configurable? |
Computer Name | Serial Number of Infinity Device | The computer name defined during production. It is set to the device's Desoutter serial number in order to be unique and easily referable. | Changing this value can make identifying the device's serial number more different in case of need to make a warranty claim.
Account Name | Pivotware | The default account created during production of the device. | Communication issues can occur if device credentials are incorrectly configured in CVI Fusion | (From 6.18 onwards) |
Password | Smartb0x | The default password set during production of the device. | Communication issues can occur if device credentials are incorrectly configured in CVI Fusion. | (From 6.18 onwards) |
Account Type | Administrator | The Windows account running Infinity Client must be an administrator or have equivalent account permissions to ensure there are no issues accessing required application resources. | Inadequate account permissions can cause unexpected behaviour in Infinity Client, affect performance or stop Infinity Client from launching/running. | (Any account used must have administrator or equivalent account permissions.) |
Domain | None | The Windows account running Infinity Client must not be impeded by a connected domain. The account must have administrator privileges or equivalent account permissions in order to ensure there are no issues accessing required application resources. | Domain and group policies can affect user permissions on a local machine. Inadequate account permissions can cause unexpected behaviour in Infinity Client, affect performance or stop Infinity Client from launching/running. | (Any account used must have administrator or equivalent account permissions without being inhibited) |
When running, the Infinity Client application requires certain ports to be open in order to operate normally. Please see below for required network ports and information about their purpose/configuration.
Port | Type | Description | Configurable? |
20 | TCP | FTP Communication between Infinity Client and CVI Fusion
21 | TCP | FTP Communication between Infinity Client and CVI Fusion
2620 | TCP | TCP Communication between Infinity Client and legacy Infinity Builder
2620 | TCP | TCP Communication between Infinity Client and Infinity Module (Builder)
2630 | TCP | TCP Communication between Infinity Client and Infinity Module (Tracker)
7750 | TCP | TCP Communication between Infinity Client and Desoutter - Core Service (QMS
7760 | TCP | TCP Communication between Infinity Client and Desoutter - Core Service (Engine)
8080 | TCP | Internal TCP Communications used in Infinity Client Local Reporting Usage
9010+ | TCP | Internal TCP Communications used in Infinity Client Plugin API Usage |
Starting Infinity Client
After the device has powered on then the Infinity Client application should load automatically. It should look something like this:
Licensing Infinity Client
Infinity Client devices are licensed during their production. As a result, there should never be anything for a user to do with regard to licensing with Infinity Client.
An error in detecting applicable hardware will result in the Infinity Client device declaring that the the hardware is invalid like seen here:
