CVIxII Controllers
The Desoutter CVIxII series is capable of sending it's tightening results to the CVI Net (collector) service however it is necessary to make some small changes to the configuration in order to define the correct way of working.
See below for which changes are required in a CVIxII controller in order to allow result storage by the CVI Net Web platform.
The following CVIxII tool settings have been set using CVIPC 2000. To get the download link please see here |
Enable CVI Net Service connection
- Select your controller
- Navigate to "Controller > Ethernet"
- Ensure "Link Ethernet" is selected in the Ethernet property
- Select "Sockets > 2"
- Ensure "CVI Net Data Collector" is selected in the Associated function property
- Define the IP Address of the machine that your CVI Net (collector) Service is installed on
Define specifics about sent results
- Select your controller
- Navigate to "Controller > Peripherals > CVINet Data Collector"
- Define the data and behaviour of your tightening unit when recording results.

CVI3 Controllers
The Desoutter CVI3 series is capable of sending it's tightening results to the CVI Net (collector) service however it is necessary to make some small changes to the configuration in order to define the correct way of working.
See below for which changes are required in a CVI3 controller in order to allow remote control by the CVI Net Web platform.
It is possible to define the follow configuration change by using our management software CVI Config or directly on the HMI of the CVI3. To get CVI Config, please see here |
CVI Config
- Select your controller
- Navigate to "Parameters > Network > CVINet"
- Ensure "CVINet data collection active" is enabled
- Define the IP Address of the machine that your CVI Net (collector) Service is installed on
- Define the specific data and behaviour of your tightening unit when recording results.
Controller HMI
On your controller:
- Click this button to open the Main Menu
- Navigate to "Configuration > Controller > Peripherals > CVINet"
- Ensure "CVINet actiated" is enabled
- Define the IP Address of the machine that your CVI Net (collector) Service is installed on
- Define the specific data and behaviour of your tightening unit when recording results.
- Use the drop-down menu at the bottom of the menu to switch between available options.
CVI Net Service Authorisation
After a configuration has been applied to a controller, the controller then attempts to communicate with the CVI Net (collector) service at the defined address and port number. If the connection is successful then it will be available to be authorised so that results are stored in the connected database.
To get more information about how to install the CVI Net Service, see here |
- Open the CVI Net Web (viewer)
- Click this icon
- Navigate to "Controllers"
- All controllers that have successfully connected to the CVI Net (collector) service are listed on the Controller management pop-up like seen.
- Mark the controller(s) as True where you want to store their results in the database.
- A notification will appear in the top-left corner to confirm the action
- Click Refresh
- Controllers with "True" under the Token column are being allowed to store data in the database.
