Mounting  


Wall Mounting Installation  

The wall-mounting kit (6153993410) for CONNECT is a removable mounting device that attaches the rear of the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub device allowing them to be easily wall mounted.


Use the following drilling template to properly measure where the wall-mounting kit will be mounted to an applicable railing or wall. The dimensions for the wall-mounting kit are provided below:

After having marked out where the wall-mounting kit will be mounted, secure the wall-mounting kit to the surface.

Once the wall-mount kit is firmly secured on the wall or applicable railing, place the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub as follows:

  1. Position the top of Connect - Industrial Hub's rear against the wall-mounting kit so that the rear slots fit into the lifting lugs of the kit.
  2. Let the Connect - Industrial Hub drop down into the wall-mounting kit. It will lock into place with a distinctive click.


Wall Mounting Removal  

  1. Power off the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub
  2. For safety, unplug all connected cables.


Once the device is ready to be removed from it's mounted position. remove the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub as follows:

  1. Push the locking tab down to unlock the wall-mounting kit.
  2. Pull the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub away and lift to remove it.


Additional Hardware  


RIM Cover Protection (6152111240)  

The RIM Cover protection Kit is an optional accessory the prevents user from removing the inserted RIM from the CONNEXT-X or CONNECT-W


Advanced Wall Mounting Kit (6153995650)  

The Advanced Wall Mounting Kit is an optional accessory the allows users to tilt the CONNECT-X or CONNECT-W in 7.5° increments (min. -15°/max. +15°)


IP54 Protection Kit (6153993360)  

The IP54 Protection Kit is an optional accessory used to protect CONNECT-X and CONNECT-W from dust and splashed water.


Wi-Fi Antenna Installation  

Applicable only to CONNECT-W.

  • Remove plastic caps from the top of device
  • Screw antennae into place used the provided connections.


Power Supply  


Connecting the Power Supply  

AC Power Supply  

Connect the applicable power cord to Fig 1. Ensure that an applicable voltage is supplied for the Connect  - Industrial Smart Hub.


DC Power Supply  

Connect the applicable power cord to Fig 1. Ensure that an applicable voltage is supplied for the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub.


Refer to the following pin layout (2) to connect the cable to an external 24 V DC input. The maximum current for each pin is 1.5 A.

Powering on the Device  

  • Open the access panel located on the side of the Connect - Industrial Smart Hub
  • Push the ON/OFF switch to the | position (Fig 1). This  will put the connect into standby mode.
  • Hold the Power Management button (Fig 2) until the screen lights up, LED's all flashing and the screen shows a Desoutter logo.
  • The device is fully initialised and ready to be used once the LED's stop flashing and remain steady.


Powering off the Device  

  • Hold the Power Management button (Fig 1) until the Power menu appears/li>
  • Choose "Shutdown". (Fig 2)
  • Once all LED's have turned off fully the device has powered down.
  • Once no more LED activity has been observed for a full 10-20 seconds, push the ON/OFF switch to the O position (Fig 3).
  • Unplug the power cable if required


Networking  

Connect-X and Connect-W have differing network capabilities based on hardware differences.

By default, all models of Connect - Industrial Smart Hub have their Ethernet ports split into separate adapters/networks.

  • Ethernet 1 and 2 are grouped together as "Ethernet 1"
  • Ethernet 3 and 4 are grouped together as "Ethernet 2"
