We advise you to read through the following article before proceeding with the installation procedure:

CONNECT-D hardware requirements : article lists the minimum system specifications to support the CONNECT-D regardless of the type of installation.

2 - Software update

2.1 - CONNECT-D Update overview

During an update, the CONNECT-D Installer will check whether the CONNECT-D is already installed on the target computer then check the installed software version. Once the update itself has started, a configuration backup is performed - this backup is going to be restored during the update final stages.

To achieve a successful update, it is necessary to check that:

The CONNECT-D software is running.
There is no on-going tightening.
The CONNECT-D Configurator interface is closed.

It is also advised to run a CONNECT-D backup before starting with the procedure - while the update itself will create one, having one performed before the update ensures an additional level of safety.

2.2 - CONNECT-D Update

Download the latest CONNECT-D software release then copy the installer to the target computer. Once the installer has been successfully copied :

Start the update by double clicking the CONNECT-D.exe file.
An interface opens that summarise the installation scope.
Click Continue.
Note: CodeMeter Runtime will not be installed if you are already running a higher version of the software.
After providing administrator privileges if required, wait for the Setup to start.

Click Next once the CONNECT-D Setup initial stage is complete.
Accept the End-User License Agreement.
Choose Typical as a setup type then click Next.
Check the Installation Settings details - ensure the Version details are exact.
Click Next then wait for the Installation to complete.
Once the setup is complete, check the Start Connect-D Configurator checkbox then click Finish.
The CONNECT-D Configurator interface must open.
Click Apply Version to complete the Software Update Process.
